Drivers do have half day rates: 600k full day. Nusa Dua to Kuta would not cost much more than 130k with a taxi. The only disadvantage of Kura-Kura is that it covers mostly the south of the island and goes as far as Ubud. Still, you won't be able to travel with them to the other areas of Bali. If you can afford to stay there I don't think a 5/7 pound taxi ride to Seminyak will be too much of a bother. I do hope you have or intend to take some day trips away from the southern beaches because the rest of Bali is so very different.
One of my favourites for the food and atmosphere is Bumbu Bali not far from Nusa Dua in Tanjung Benoa -a 5 minute taxi ride away. Nothing in Bali costs as much as in UK - you will feel like you are pushing the boat out for the price of a good pub meal closer to home. Have a great time. Mazza :-)

Nusa Dua is only about 20 minutes from the airport, and around 20 to 25 minutes from either Kuta or Sanur. The tollway that runs across Benoa Harbour has made the trip a lot faster than it used to be, and depending on traffic and the time of day, a trip from the airport can take as little as 10 minutes.
There is a bus every 15 minutes. It stops at the International arrival terminal on the ground floor. You can find it on the furthest left corner where the airport taxis park as well. The rate is Rp 7,500 per passenger. Students only pay Rp 2,500 per passenger. The bus is in operation daily from 5am to 9pm.
